My APPROACH

In my counselling practice, I believe that mental healthcare should not be mysterious or confusing. Each person is the expert of their own life. My job is not to tell you what to do, but to equip you with information, tools, and skills so that you can build your life the way you want it to be. Let's use science, compassion, and determination to put you back in your own driver's seat. 

What I can assist with

Healing

Trauma

Events or enduring conditions that overwhelmed your available coping mechanisms at the time. I use trauma-informed practice like polyvagal theory, neurobiological psychoeducation, and parts work to empower you to claim back your life. 

Grief

We can grieve family, friends, pets, ideas, futures, or even someone who is still alive. Grief can make us feel like we are losing our minds. I use compassionate inquiry techniques, mindfulness, and person-centered practice to help clients claim their mourning and process their experience. 

Burnout

Feeling like your energy never replenishes, especially in the face of work or other demands, can leaving us feeling trapped. I use mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy techniques, and psychoeducation to assist you in cutting yourself some slack without losing your productivity. 

Relationship difficulties

Our relationships can be central to our psychological experience. Based on classical theory, I'll help you make sense of your relationship patterns. Then we'll use more contemporary techniques to equip you to work towards the intimacy, boundaries, and quality of communication you want. 


Growing

Stress management skills

Learn how your self-talk, you relationship with yourself, your knowledge of your nervous system, and neuroplasticity can help you to keep your head above any waters. 

Developing your relationship with yourself

Your relationship with yourself is as complex as any relationship you have with a family member - complex, with a history, and maybe not in the best state. Learning to be your own best friend is possible. 

Developing the mindset to go after your dream

Many of us have spent too much time holding ourselves back. Everyone deserves to dream and to pursue their dreams. Let's get you out of your own way.
